If you guys have noticed, i have been active on beta, alpha and more recently back on eta, theta and zeta. A New Community is being built for Alliances that share the members of my alliances. Currently ONLY the ZETA alliance will be in this alliance, however an extention on beta, and alpha are in the works. from that we should beable to gain some experience and active userbase in which we will be able to expand to theta, eta, and other notable servers. ALL former POG alliances are welcome to Join the New Community.

    I have a question to ask...if I build an embassy in another colony (right now I have one only in my capital), can I safely demolish the one in my capital without deleting me from the alliance? I have 0 spaces in my capital...and I want some of the new buildings!

    I would build it up before you demo the other one...that's what I'm doing to free up some space. I would try to maintain at least three diplo points for the alliance, then a few more for CT's.

    as long as you have embassy in one of you towns, you can be in a alliance

    means you can demolish one as long as you have another one already bult

    You don't need diplomacy points for cultural treaties.

    You do for trade treaties, and I think you need them for military treaties as well.

    I don't think you really have to have one that is leveled up to be in the alliance, as long as you just have one...

    The game system no longer lets you go in to negative numbers for your diplomacy points. However, if you don't have any trade treaties or military treaties, then you use zero diplomacy points. I actually de-constructed all of my Embassies in all my cities and it didn't kick me out of the alliance. So I'm agree that you just need an Embassy to join an Alliance and then you can trash it. If it does kick me out of the Alliance, then you'll definitely hear about it. But for now I'm going with zero embassies.

    Wow, I wish I had known about this when 3.0 first rolled out. Thanks for the tip!

    EDIT: I just tried it for myself, and I can confirm ambrosiaa's statement. I have 0 embassies but am still part of PoG. I had to cancel my one outstanding trade treaty first, though.

    Honestly I think there is little incentive to being the leader of an alliance in Ikariam these days. I still say we need to institute a Greeny tribute for the alliance leadership.

    I guess unless you want your own alliance , you really dont need embassies. but, if a leader retires and no one has diplomacy points, the alliance is gone.

    a note about the tribute system.

    The Ideal "Leader" of an alliance would be the lowest Ranked Player in the alliance, maybe someone not active enough to actually play the game, but active enough to build embassies up. I have seen this work with a few alliance. But you have to have a Leadership Team that understands the leader isn't "THE LEADER" rather just a host for the alliance.

    The ikapedia actually says that the leader is ment to get a certain number of resources bonus for every member in the alliance, however that's a feature that has not yet been implemented (just like when the General, Home Sec, and Diplomat positions didn't work).
