The USA under siege!!!

Hey PoG'ers,
I left Eta a month ago or so and started to play a game called eRep. It's a modern social/political/military strategy game. Instead of playing as a nation or town (like Ikariam), you play an actual person and can take on one of many roles - like soldier, general, senator, political pundit, news reporter, ambassador, business mogul or yes, even president of a country.

Yesterday, in the game, World War III basically started with Hungary, France and Russia all attacking the U.S. and Canada at the same time! Hungary has a lot of RL active players and has formed a coalition of nations to gang up on the United States and Canada. If anyone here is interested in joining up and helping defend the USA or Canada, please do so. We could use the help...

I ended up quiting that game for some reason. Can't remember why. I had joined it when it first started though.

Emperor Nero probably quit because the game starts off REALLY SLOWLY. Lots of players do. It seems a lot of the game (the fun, social and strategic part) is done in the many forums and IRC channels. But the game itself doesn't do a good job of indoctrinating new players (letting them know where to find the interesting stuff) and most either become "2-clickers" (work, train) or drop out. But there is a lot to do and lots of people to meet! Cool people like here!

And thing about eRep is that you can spend as much or as little time as you want there. Some players are "2-clickers" and play for 3 minutes a day and some spend 10 hours working with other players to plan strategies and gather and disseminate info, etc. And the greatest part is that you can switch between the two. If you've got time, spend a few hours on the cool social aspect of the game. If you get busy, become a 2-clicker for a while. If you want, you should check it out. It's really only as time consuming as you want it to be.
